Off-Broadway thriller Play Dead will go to its grave on July 24. The macabre evening, directed by Teller (of Penn & Teller fame), and co-written by Teller and show star Todd Robbins, opened at the Players Theatre on November 10, 2010.
Set in a theater that appears to be abandoned and lit by a single ghost light, Play Dead explores death, darkness and deception. Narrated by Robbins, the show is part retro spook-show, part thrill-ride and all fun, with stunning magic and amazing illusions, and takes audiences into uncharted supernatural waters, loaded with haunting surprises and plenty of shrieking nervous laughter.
In addition to Robbins, the cast of Play Dead includes Geri Berman, Charlotte Pines, Drea Lorraine, April Andres, Don Meehan and Brianna Hurley.
